Under the "Telangana Rising" tag, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has brought into being a big Vision-2050 plan under which he projects to catapult development in the State in the next 25 years. At its heart is to be a "Future City, which would span over 30,000 acres of technologically and industrially upgraded urban development hub. The aim is to place this city at par with global giants like New York and Tokyo. CM Reddy stressed the need for unity among Telugu-speaking people to drive progress collectively, urging collaboration to enhance influence both domestically and internationally.
Speaking on the final day of the 12th Biennial Conference of the World Telugu Federation in Hyderabad, CM Reddy shared the historical background of the federation. He mentioned that such activities were initiated three decades ago by NTR, who spearheaded it. It played a very vital role in furthering the culture and identity of Telugu globally. According to him, such programs help bring the generations of Telugu-speaking people from various countries even closer.
He voiced concern over the fact that Telugus are not holding much sway in national politics. He said leaders like PV Narasimha Rao, NTR, and YS Rajasekhara Reddy left marks on the Indian political and economic map. Still, at present, the representation of Telugus in national decision-making has waned. CM Reddy urged introspection and action to reclaim the lost glory.
To highlight the need for the preservation of the Telugu language, CM Reddy proposed the inclusion of Telugu in governance. He pointed out the release of government orders in Telugu, such as the farmer loan waiver, and suggested that judgments be pronounced in Telugu. He claimed that these steps would boost cultural pride and make it easier for the people.
The Telangana government is industrializing and developing infrastructures. Among the flagship programs is Future City. The proposed plans are:
CM Reddy invited Telugu industrialists worldwide to invest in Telangana, promising single-window permits and robust support to foster economic growth.
CM Reddy stressed that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh needed to be cooperative. There was no competition, he claimed, and asked for a collective effort toward world-class performance. He urged discussion to resolve conflicts between the two states, asserting that cooperation can make both into international models for development.
