Botsa Satyanarayana Is Set To Become An MLC

Former minister and senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana will be the new MLC. Yes, he'll be back in court. Botsa, who contested from Cheepurupalli constituency in the last Assembly elections, lost. But two months later, he is back in the house. The party has yet to decide its candidate for the local body elections. Only a few hours are left to file nominations. Since Chandrababu is keeping mum on declaring the candidate, it's doing rounds that he has withdrawn from the contest. Botsa Satyanarayana of YSRCP has already filed his nomination. This preparation is being made inside the YCP circles to celebrate at North Andhra venue.

TDP to field candidates in MLC elections? Will there be? No clarity yet on that. There was a special report in the pro-TDP media that the party was far away from the MLC election. More than 60 percent of the members of the local bodies are from the YSRCP. It is reported that the TDP high command has come to the decision that it is better to leave the MLC in case of defeat. Within two months, alliance parties in AP won with a huge majority. The party is in power in the whole state. Now there is no need to win an MLC. Chandrababu feels that it will be a shame if he contests and loses. For this reason, the candidate has decided not to run. It will damage the government's reputation. It appears that most of the TDP leaders have opined it is better to stay away from contesting. But it is heard that the United Visakhapatnam MLAs are ready to come forward and declare that they will emerge successful. Now Chandrababu appears to have taken a decision on which reason he wants to take such risk and opt for the contest.

YSRCP candidate Botsa Satyanarayana submits nomination for MLC election. Total of 860 votes. BJP has 600. But joining of some alliance parties has increased the strength of TDP alliance to 300. The GVMC corporators and municipal councilors from Narsipatnam, Anakapalli and Elamanchili too have votes. There are two constituencies in Visakhapatnam. All contestants won. About 200 votes would win the election. The BJP has already shifted its base to Bengaluru. No contact is done with them over the phone. That is why Chandrababu has decided not to contest. In all the elections held in the last five years, the majority of local bodies are won by YCP. Majority is there in BJP. Hence he has decided to withdraw the decision taken to contest the MLC elections of Visakhapatnam local bodies. Nomination filing date is today. And here is the list of representatives. Of course, Botsa Satyanarayana is going to be the only MLC on this list. Good that two months are over.
