It has also finalised all the other arrangements to open up food canteens from this 15th to feed the hunger of the poor. In the first phase, 100 canteens will be opened on Independence Day. As the election code has come into force with MLC elections notification, the AP government is going to begin these canteens in the remaining districts except North Andhra districts. Minister Narayana held a discussion with the officials on where the canteens should be set up and released the final list. The government will provide the poor with breakfast, lunch, and dinner at just Rs 5. This canteen was inaugurated in 2014 during TDP-government in Andhra Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP took charge in 2019. These secretariats were operated from buildings, which were originally constructed to house canteens. In this context, Chandrababu assured to resume Anna Canteens if voted back into power. These were relaunched on Independence Day.
Anna canteens have also been opened in Nellore district. Preparations are being done to open Anna Canteens in the first phase of all nine places. Out of them, seven canteens will be inaugurated in Nellore City. In the heart of the city, canteens have been given at vegetable market, big fish market, PWD office, Indira Bhavan Road, Jawahar Bal Bhavan, old municipal office, and silk industry offices. Besides these, one canteen has been arranged on the premises of Kavali Tahsildar's office and the other at the old fish market in Kandukur. The canteens will come into effect on August 15. On this backdrop, jubilation is pouring in from the poor. Hearty dinner makes the poor satisfied.
In the last phase, canteens will be opened in Atmakur, Udayagiri, Nellore Rural, and Kovvur constituencies in the Nellore district. So far, the administration is trying to ensure all nine canteens open to the general public. AP Government has contracted an NGO to supply food in the canteen. During TDP regime, they used to work for only a year. But now, they are presented within two months of coming into power.
