Bald Eagle Officially Designated Americas National Bird

After more than two centuries with it as a symbol of America's might and resilience, the bald eagle has now been officially designated as America's national bird. The bill became a law on Tuesday when President Joe Biden signed it.

The image of the bald eagle adorns the official emblem of the United States since 1782, appearing over the years on presidential flag documents, and on money. And, at the behest of the Act now passed, the eagle becomes more than just a symbol-this act decrees it the national bird-though it was seen only in pictures for close to two centuries.

Native to North America, this magnificent bird remains a living embodiment of strength and freedom. This latest presidential approval cements its place as an enduring symbol of the United States of America.
