CM Chandrababu Naidu Seeks Special Assistance For Andhra Pradesh

Appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Economic Support

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend special assistance to Andhra Pradesh, citing the state’s disrupted economy under the YSRCP government. Addressing the mismanagement of a revenue surplus grant intended for five years but utilized within three, Chandrababu emphasized the need for central support. On Wednesday evening, he met the Prime Minister and presented Swarnandhra Vision - 2047, the long-term goals of the state on development, and sought a commitment for its implementation. He also discussed the launch of major projects that the State would be taking next month.

Updates on Major Projects and Pending Central Schemes

The Chief Minister updated the Prime Minister on the progress made after budgetary allocations for major projects such as Polavaram and Amaravati. He pointed out that two big-ticket projects are to begin soon and sought the release of funds for 74 central schemes that have been resumed after the previous government suspended them. Chandrababu also sought speedy clearances and raw material supply for the proposed ArcelorMittal steel plant in Anakapalle district.

Meetings with Important Central Ministers

Chandrababu Naidu also met Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman seeking higher budgetary provisions for Andhra Pradesh. In the morning, after a meeting with NDA leaders, he met Union Steel Minister Kumaraswamy to discuss the revival of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant at BJP President JP Nadda's residence.

Railway Development and Technology Initiatives

Later, the Chief Minister took up discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to speed up several pending railway projects, such as Visakhapatnam railway zone, modernization of railway stations, and making of road overbridges and road underbridges. The possibility of Deep tech and AI-based enterprises in Visakhapatnam is also taken up along with how central incentives could be made available to uplift the technology sector in that region.

Chandrababu's series of meetings reveal his commitment to ensuring that Andhra Pradesh will achieve economic recovery and long-term growth. By focusing on infrastructure, technology, and industrial development, he wants the state to be the innovation and progress hub.
