Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani of tarnishing India’s global reputation. He alleged that the nation has been compromised by the BJP's efforts to shield itself from accountability. Calling for transparency, Revanth demanded that Chief Minister KCR clarify his stance on whether he supports the Modi-Adani nexus or the people. He warned that if necessary, Congress would organize a "Chalo Rashtrapati Bhavan" protest, pressing for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into the Adani issue.
The AICC has initiated nationwide protests, criticizing the central government's inaction on both the Adani controversy and the ongoing Manipur riots. In Hyderabad, a "Chalo Raj Bhavan" protest led by the state Congress escalated into a standoff with the police. The march, which included prominent leaders such as Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and several MLAs, was intercepted near Lakeview Guest House. Protesters clashed with the police as they attempted to breach barricades, eventually staging a sit-in demonstration.
The protest began with a march from the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road toward Raj Bhavan, featuring placards condemning Modi and Adani. The demonstration saw participation from Congress state affairs in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi, senior ministers, and a large contingent of activists.
Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy declared that the connection between Modi and Adani is evident to the world. He highlighted reports from investigative agencies suggesting Adani bribed foreign companies. Despite repeated demands for a probe, including protests in Parliament by Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister has avoided discussions or forming a JPC. “Even if Modi shields Adani, international authorities like the U.S. will hold him accountable,” said Revanth. He also criticized KCR for his silence, claiming it demonstrates complicity with the BJP.
Revanth urged the Telangana Assembly to unanimously pass a resolution demanding a JPC investigation. "We will fight until Adani is held accountable," he asserted.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka accused the Modi government of prioritizing corporate interests over public welfare. “Modi is looting the nation’s resources for a few investors,” he stated. The protest, he explained, aims to expose Adani's exploitation and ensure resources benefit ordinary citizens, as advocated by Rahul Gandhi.
Deepa Dasmunshi criticized the government’s apathy toward the Manipur riots, questioning Modi’s silence on the issue despite a year of unrest. She also demanded action from investigative agencies against Adani in the money laundering case.
PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud joined the chorus, questioning the Center’s hesitation to establish a JPC. He condemned the BJP-led government for its failure to maintain law and order in Manipur.
