Hyderabad City Police Commissioner (CP) CV Anand came out publicly with an apology over some comments he had made recently during a press conference related to the incident of the Sandhya Theater. He regretted his action as losing temper and has taken back those statements which were given in his address against the national media.
The Sandhya Theater incident was brought into sharp focus after the videos of the incident were released by CP CV Anand at a press meet. The commissioner narrated the sequence of incidents with the help of CCTV footage. However, there was a row when the national media journalists questioned him on certain aspects of the incident. CV Anand retaliated by passing comments against the national media for supporting the incident that drew flak from journalists present.
Taking to the social media platform X, CV Anand admitted that he had lost his cool during the press meet. In the post, he wrote:
An investigation is underway into this incident. I lost some patience after asking provocative questions in the press meet. No matter what the circumstances are, one has to exercise restraint. I feel that what I did was wrong. I withdraw my comments made to the national media. I apologize
This public apology marks his acknowledgment of the situation and his commitment to maintaining professionalism moving forward.
The probe into the incident at Sandhya Theater is ongoing. CP Anand promised to seek legal advice before proceeding any further. In the press conference, he answered the questions relating to the December 4 incident and screened the CCTV footage for greater clarity.
Other prominent persons include film actress and Congress leader Vijayashanti, who expressed their views. Vijayashanti condemned the incidence as unfortunate. She even targeted the Union ministers who are accused of leveling charges against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She said that BJP leaders were trying to exploit the situation politically.
In her statement, she further emphasized the need for nationwide support for the film industry and demanded collective efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future.
