The Telangana government has appointed the popular Tollywood producer Dil Raju as the chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC). He took charge of this position formally by taking oath in the presence of his family at the TFDC chamber.
Speaking to the media after taking over, Dil Raju thanked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for giving him this opportunity. He said that reviving TFDC and bringing it back to its former glory is a big task.
“We must ensure films reflect Telangana's rich culture while continuing to enhance the global presence of Telugu cinema. Since the industry’s move to Hyderabad from Madras, Telugu cinema has grown significantly, and we must take it further. As TFDC chairman, I will act as a bridge between the government and the film industry to address the concerns of all sectors,” said Dil Raju.
Born as Venkataramana Reddy, he began his career in the film industry in the year 1990 as a distributor for Pelli Pandiri. Gradually he progressed towards production and set up the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. His first movie was produced in the year 2003 but after the success of that film, generally, he was known as Dil Raju.
He is currently producing such high-profile films as Game Changer, Sankranthiki Yaaynam, and Thammudu. Of these, Game Changer and Sankranthiki Yaaynam will be released during Sankranthi.
Today is also the birthday of Dil Raju, a milestone on which colleagues and friends of the film fraternity showered their blessings. Many saluted his dedication to cinema and wished that he continued to make memorable films.
As the chairman of TFDC, Dil Raju carries along with him the hopes of this industry and has plans of strengthening its foundation while also pushing for cultural and global excellence.
