While giving highlights of the existing government's successes, he said that between 2014 and 2019, "we carried out thorough research before settling for this plant. The YSRCP government had relinquished the power generation plants. Presently, garbage of seven municipalities and corporations are transported here. From the total of 6,890 metric tonnes of garbage, 2,500 tons is being converted to electricity. Such plans are being made at Kakinada and Nellore too".
Recently, minister Narayana inspected the Jindal project at Palnadu district and discussed with officials on plant operations and management of wastes. On the occasion, Narayana expressed that the government had seriously undertaken initiatives to improve infrastructure in the state, and 100 percent of the municipal infrastructure projects in the state will be completed in the next three years.
The minister criticized the previous government for doing nothing, saying, "The previous government failed to establish even a single waste-to-energy plant. Apart from collecting garbage tax, they did not have a proper waste management policy. We amended the law to remove this garbage tax."
Former Minister Prathipati Pullarao has attended the ceremony, who was optimistic by saying that this Jindal project could generate about 16 megawatt of power from the waste only.
Chairman Pattabhi praised Swachhandra Corporation with regard to Chandrababu Naidu and minister Narayana who introduced this plant. The said plant was designed by great amount of research regarding foreign superior technology. This speaks well for strong commitments in pursuit of modern as well as environment-friendly technology of waste management solutions.
