Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent comments on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution, have sparked widespread controversy. Tamil actor and Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party president Vijay made a strong rebuttal while opposition parties protest against Amit Shah. Vijay spoke against people who downplay the legacy of Ambedkar, stating that his contributions are of immense importance.
Vijay, from his Twitter account, made the following comments on this social media platform:
“Some people do not like even hearing the name Ambedkar. He is an incomparable political genius who ignited the spirit of freedom for all the citizens of India. His legacy is a beacon of hope for the grassroots. A symbol of social justice and resistance against injustice. Ambedkar… Ambedkar… Ambedkar. Just saying his name fills the mind and lips with joy.”
Well-known for being the best actor in Tamil films, Vijay has made his political entry recently, forming the party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. Launching the party and unfurling its flag, Vijay explained its ideology to the public. During his inaugural rally for the party, Vijay once again espoused the values of icon leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Periyar, E.V. Ramasamy, and K. Kamaraj.
The TVK party is preparing to contest in the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections, with a focus on bringing Ambedkar's ideals of equality and social justice to the forefront of its agenda.
