Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said at a revenue conference held in Idpugallu, Krishna district, that there would be zero tolerance for irregularities on land. He said that action would be taken, even for the illegal seizure of as little as a cent of land. To curb land grabbing, fraud, and intimidation, a new law has been brought in with stringent penalties for violators.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for maintaining the rights of ancestral properties. He warned, "Before taking away someone's land, think about the punishment - even imprisonment." The government is all set to provide updated pattadar passbooks, containing QR codes for increased transparency and accountability in land ownership. "We are organizing revenue conferences in all villages to address grievances, the CM stated.
The CM further informed that till date, 95,200 petitions had been received, and over 3 lakh people have participated in these conferences. The drive will continue until January 9, which will ensure widespread coverage and an effective resolution of land-related issues.
